February 2008 : Back in Ireland, having fun with the new camera. Bought my first Volkswagon! Yeah! 1994 Golf, 97,000 miles---absolutely beautiful! Freedom of the roads again, exploration of my new country at my own pace. Night out in Kildare with my fellow Americans--Big One. Fun at work, and fun at home with the flatmates.

March 2008 : Life in Dublin 8. Diogo visits on his way for his Italian passport. Mad crazy Irish nights--the "craic" is mighty. Anouk is born--congrats Denny and Jeanne! Big Big Aussie/Northy/American session. Legendary.

April 2008 : Spring has sprung. Ireland in Bloom. Off to Spain with Lucia---exploring her hometown of Santander. Javi meet-up, excellent! Au revoir Angelique, and Good Day, new Aussie flatmate. A trip to Tullamore to see the family and milk my first cow. Ingrid in from Zurich (via Brazil) with Nicholas. As always, great to see her.

May 2008 : Busy month. Kris arrives in Dublin, and we head into the west---Galway, Aran Islands, Cliffs of Mohr, and down to Kilkenny. Back in Dubs to collect my folks. One month in Eire, my father's 1st time, and it is my pleasure to not only show them around, but to introduce my dad to his family---aunts, cousins, 2nd cousins---and his parents' homeplaces. On the farm in Offaly and by the sea in Mayo. Crough Patrick climbed, and then we head North.

June 2008 : My parents finishing their trip, Carrie deciding to come to Mexico with me, one of my many goodbye Ireland sessions, and the month is only a week in. Off to Italy to see Davide and family--Modena and Gabbici. Hill of Tara, prized sheep, Dublin 8 burning, and Eric Clapton rockin' out in the rain. Final goodbye party, my last Irish Chinese with the twins, so long Long's Place, then back home to Rochester---I have a new beautiful niece to meet!!

July 2008 : Back in the States and off to Keuka Lake--one of my favorite spots with my favorite people! Buffalo with Brig, Chicago with the 716 crew, Scott's B-day, and a cousin connection. Mini-retirement in full swing! Head down Mexico way for a month, beginning with "Pastor" Matt marrying his great friends Laurel and Manav. Party time! Everyone in the pool! Country crossing with wing man Revesz, and then wing woman Stewart. Cabos, Guadalajara, Guanajuato, Mexico DF, Oaxaca, Chiapas, and the Yucatan! Exploring with flip flops and loving it!

August 2008 : More Mexican fun! Yucatan, new friends, Cenote diving, snorkeling with a whale shark, beach party, near arrest, Monkey Matt. Relaxing on Isla Mejueres. Back to America---SF with the Cali Crew--nice! Tandoor building, Porche riding, wonderful dinners, fantastic friends. Next SLC with B.I.G.----Mormon-ia! Hot potting, hiking, and car surfing. Floating around in the Great Salt Lake. Gretchen get-down.Back to the ROC, and off to Keuka Lake.

September 2008 : A month in Upstate New York. Lovely! Cooling off in Kueka lake, babysitting my nieces, and drinks with my sis. Projects at my parents' house. Celebrating their 35th anniversary. Road trip to BFLO, always a good time, love this town! Dirty Thirty Skydive. Michelle's Birthday, time with Papa, and then a farewell dinner with the family.

October 2008 : Headed back to Ireland via NYC and Washington DC. Catching up with great friends, sharing new stories. Pick up my life in Dublin, back to old friends and a new job. Time to save for a RTW trip. Manav comes over for a few pints and a great conversation. Out to the relatives, and then an unexpected move back home; my father is ill. Halloween with my two witch nieces, Elisabeth and Caitlin.

November 2008 : Back in Rochester, and not a good month. My father is very ill, and then sadly he passes away on November 8th. We were all there with him, which was the only consolation. My brother's birthday before, and then a very nice and appropriate funeral service; it is good to be home vs. far away. I actually celebrate two Thanksgivings this year. Sign up for my AUS/NZ visa---I have one year to land.

December 2008 : Back in Rochester, staying at the parents house. BFLO get down, and then back for my birthday, celebrating with family and then friends. Christmas is coming, and winter is here.
